Then the remaining skin with hair is pulled together from the sides towards the center, which now will replace the section of skin that had had no hair and was removed.
Scalp Expansion surgery uses a tissue expander which is a balloon-type device, it is implanted under the skin of the scalp and is slowly inflated which expands the scalp skin, this is done over a 4 to 12 week time frame, this creates excesses scalp skin. This excesses tissue is then used to reduce the bald spot. This works best for people with thick hair on the sides and back of the scalp that have a large bald area on the top of the head.
